Alder Creek Veterinary Hospital is a state of the art animal hospital offering some of the latest technologies for the needs of small pets and their owners.
Our practice offers quality, professional care six days a week and emergency services seven days a week for the convenience of our clients. Our in-house diagnostic capabilities allow us to provide clients with information concerning their pets in a prompt and timely manner.

Beth Gurney, DVM
Dr. Beth Gurney started working in veterinary hospitals in 1982 and graduated from Colorado State University with her DVM in 1996. After graduation, she worked in a mixed small animal/equine practice in Phoenix, Arizona for four years prior to moving to the Rogue Valley in 2000. She has extensive experience in both internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, and has pursued post graduate training in diagnostic ultrasound. Dr. Gurney and her husband have two children. She enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family which includes two crazy loving kitties!
Nic Millan, Practice Manager
Nic was born and raised in Medford. He started volunteering with our team in April 2009 and soon became a full-time member! Nic is an avid outdoorsman and often has Collins, his border collie mix, by his side. He enjoys rock climbing, photography, motorcycling, and he attended Southern Oregon University majoring in biology.
Amber Crowe, Reception
Amber was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to Southern Oregon in 2000. She enjoys hiking, cooking, snowboarding, and attended Oregon State University majoring in history and education!
Michelle Keith , Veterinary Assistant
Michelle was born and raised in the Rogue Valley. She has over 10 years experience as a Veterinary Assistant specializing in small animal dentistry and has loved every minute of it. As a Mother of twin boys, she enjoys spending time with her kids on the baseball field, camping, horseback riding and enjoys being outdoors.
Janielle Kohatsu , CVT
Originally born and raised in Southern California, Janielle moved to Oregon in June 2010 with an animal career in mind! She attended Oregon State University majoring in Animal Sciences with a minor in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. Following her departure, she enrolled in a Veterinary Technology program at Portland Community College and earned her veterinary technician license in 2016. She has an interest in wildlife, exotic, and shelter medicine. In her free time she enjoys drawing, studying anatomy, gaming, geocaching, reading and spending time with her husband and her pets!
Frodo , Mascot
Frodo wandered into our hospital sometime in 2011. Dr. Gurney loved him so much that he has been a part of our team ever since. You can find him lounging around the hospital in various locations, getting into endless amounts of trouble, and being a professional greeter to humans and animals of any species.
